Ángel Gómez Hernández is a film director, screenwriter, producer, and film educator.
He began directing short films at the age of 12 and, since then, has been recognized with more than 170 international awards and over 700 selections and nominations at festivals around the world. Behind, his most notable short film, was shortlisted for the 2018 Academy Awards, and producer Sam Raimi and the American studio Lionsgate acquired its rights that same year.

His debut feature film as director and screenwriter came in 2020 with Voces (produced by Netflix and TVE). Upon its theatrical release, it reached the second position at the Spanish box office during its first two weeks, and after its release on Netflix, it became the most-watched film worldwide during its opening weekend, remaining in the top 10 in more than 150 countries for two additional weeks.
Two years later, in 2022, he directed El Hombre del Saco (produced by Amazon Prime Video and Antena 3 Cinema), becoming the most-watched film on Prime Video Spain for three weeks.
In 2024, he directed his third feature film, Crawlers. This film marks his transition into the Hollywood industry as a director. It is produced by Thunder Road Pictures (creators of the John Wick franchise) and Scott Strauss (CEO of Screen Gems Sony for more than thirty years). The release of Crawlers in the United States is scheduled for October 2026, in more than 1,000 theaters across the country.
One year later, in 2025, he directed Dangerous Games to play, his fourth feature film as a director and his second production for the American market. The film is based on the novel by Lucía Peters and is expected to have its international release in 2027.

In recent years, in addition to the feature films he has directed, Ángel Gómez has worked developing various projects for studios such as Sony, Screen Gems, Warner Brothers, Lionsgate, and HBO, and for producers such as Sam Raimi, Nadie es perfecto, Buendía Estudios, Beta Fiction Spain, and Ghost House Pictures, among others.
Alongside his career as a filmmaker, he has carried out an extensive teaching activity since the age of 18. He has delivered more than 800 courses in centers and schools throughout Spain, training actors and filmmakers in subjects such as acting for camera, directing actors, character creation, screenwriting, directing, technical planning, and narrative language.

In addition, for the past 12 years, he has run his own film and acting school in Madrid.
